Unfortunately, many times when tragic shootings occur, we hear more about the shooter through the media than the people who lost their lives.

In honoring the lives of Anthony Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum, I don’t feel the need to mention the murder suspect’s name. According to a criminal complaint, Huber was murdered as the suspect fled the scene of Rosenbaum’s shooting. There is a video, but, if you’re like me, you try to avoid them.

According to a criminal complaint, Huber tried to grab the suspect’s military-style semi-automatic rifle. As Huber did so, the suspect fired a round into his body. This is the shot that would take Huber’s life.

26-year-old Anthony Huber and his close friend, Hannah Gittings, were in Kenosha late that night protesting the excessive force used against Jacob Blake by a Kenosha police officer. Hannah had nothing but great things to say about him.

It’s human to be saddened by incidents such as these, but, as America continues to come together, you’re reassured knowing that lives like these are not lost in vain.
